Unrealized Costume Design

As a part of the Carl Goodson Honors Program, I partnered with professor Christina Johnson to do a study on color theory and its use in design. This study involved reading and researching, surveying students on their perception of different colors, and then using that information to make mindful decisions in the costume design process.

For the design work, I used the play Voices by Susan Griffin. This is a beautiful story of five women. I was able to really focus on different elements of the character and pair them with appropriate colors for their costumes. As a part of the design, I also found fabric samples and completed watercolor renderings of each character’s final costume.
