One Act Auditions!

I have the great opportunity to direct a new one act as a part of Act 1’s One Act Festival this February! I will be directing the show Strumento, written by Tennessee playwright Claudia Barnett. The show is really intriguing. The story centers around Italian Spiritist Eusapia Palladino during her stint in the US in the early 1900’s. I have loved getting to dig into to history of the show- thanks to the NYTimes Timesmachine feature. I am so excited to work on this piece as I feel it touches on issues women still face today.

A total of nine shows will be presented over three evenings for the festival! This weekend, we are holding auditions at the Darkhorse Theatre in Nashville. There are roughly forty roles available with ages ranging from childhood to 70+ year olds, with comedic, dramatic, horror, you name it types of stories. I’m so excited to get to be a part of this festival, and can’t wait to see how the auditions go!
