Elektra

Costume Designer

When I first read this show, being unfamiliar with the classic Greek story, I was intrigued by this merged, modern retelling. I strived to create a difference of the two worlds in the play. For the chorus, the show necessitates them being somewhat amorphous, but I still wanted them to have a lot of substance. this was accomplished by playing with different shapes and silhouettes.

Though I gather images and create a design pamphlet for all shows I work on, with this production, I was especially excited for my design images. The more I read the play, and the more I heard descriptive words from the director, Colin Peterson, the more and more inspired I was. I ended up with a collection of images I was very proud of, and something that I was excited create from.
